PVCC selected as State Farm Neighborhood Assist® top 200 finalist
Piedmont Virginia Community College’s Great Expectations program has been selected as a top 200 finalist in the State Farm Neighborhood Assist® grant program. The top 40 causes will be selected by public vote for a chance to receive a $25,000 grant from State Farm®.
PVCC requests your support by casting votes for the Great Expectations program to receive grant funding to provide opportunities for foster care youth in the region. Voting will open Wednesday, Aug. 15 at 12:01 a.m. and close on Friday, Aug. 24 at 11:59 p.m. U.S. residents who are 18 years or older with a valid email address can vote for Great Expectations at Votes can be cast up to 10 times each day.
Great Expectations at PVCC is part of a statewide initiative that serves current and former foster care youth by providing resources, tools, information and guidance to empower them in reaching their educational and career goals while assisting them in their transition into a health and successful adulthood. On Tuesday, Sept. 25, the top 40 vote-receiving causes will be announced and a $25,000 grant will be awarded to each of the affiliated nonprofits.
