Should stop signs replace traffic lights on West Main, Water and Market Streets?

City planner and urban designer Jeff Speck, a leading expert on how communities around the country can become more livable, walkable and economically viable, suggested in his presentation at the Jefferson School African American Heritage Center that by replacing traffic signals with stop signs on two-lane streets, traffic flow would increase and drivers, pedestrians and cyclists would be much safer.
