The Charlottesville Albemarle Convention & Visitors Bureau’s Instagram Account Named One of Top 6 Best Cities in the Country

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (March 3, 2016) – The official destination marketing organization for Charlottesville and Albemarle County, the Charlottesville Albemarle Convention & Visitors Bureau (CACVB), has once again been recognized for its innovative efforts in social media marketing.

Livability named the destination one of “The 6 Best Cities on Instagram”, alongside Ann Arbor, MI, Sugar Land, TX, Little Rock, AK, Issaquah, WA, and Asheville, NC. Referring to the Charlottesville & Albemarle County Instagram account, Livability says: “Like the town itself, Charlottesville’s account is filled with character. Even the account description gives you a hint at the town’s fun feel, as it reads, “Taking over Charlottesville’s Instagram because Thomas Jefferson would have wanted us to.” The mostly food-free images, which are replaced by outdoor vistas and cycling or hiking pictures, give a hint to why the town often appears on lists of the most healthy places to live.” The link to the article is and the link to the CACVB’s Instagram account is   .

I would like to congratulate our Digital Marketing Coordinator, Ellen Sewell, as well as the interns who have helped us over the past few years in managing our social media in a creative and appealing way,” he said.
