Charlottesville, VA – Tom Tom Founders Festival announces the music lineup for Tomtoberfest, an annual free festival and outdoor bash in Charlottesville’s Lee Park on September 23 and 24. The 5th Annual Fall Event is expected to attract more than 14,000 weekend attendees and will

feature nearly 100 arts, food, and drink vendors, including a craft beer garden with exclusive New Belgium drafts, as well as more than 60 organizations from the technology and creative sectors, and a wide variety of performances and kid­friendly events.

The music lineup includes acts such as blues guitarist and vocalist  Corey Harris, who has performed and recorded with Dave Matthews Band, BB King, and Wilco, among others. Reggae artist and African percussionist Mighty Joshua has been nominated Virginia Reggae Ambassador and Artist of the Year. Premier funk band KINGS has performed with musicians ranging from Kendrick Lamar to Keller Williams. Many more bands are included in the full lineup, which can be found  here.

“We’re excited for another opportunity to bring together our region’s musicians, artists, tastemakers, innovators, and leaders in a unique and free celebration,” says Festival Director Paul Beyer. “It’ll be a weekend where attendees can enjoy great local food and beer, danceable music, creative artisans, and get excited for Tom Tom Founders Festival 2017 all while celebrating entrepreneurs whose work benefits Charlottesville and the world.”

Block party festivities kick off Friday, September 23 from 5­11pm with rock, reggae, R&B, funk, and blues  performances. The block party’s opening night will also celebrate recipients of  Tom Tom’s 2016 Founding Cville Awards, an annual project honoring leaders nominated by the public and whose groundbreaking work benefits local and international communities. More than 60 of the region’s most innovative firms and companies will participate in Friday evening’s  Regional Tech Mixer, providing an opportunity for individuals and organizations to network with investors, entrepreneurs and the area’s top talent.

Events throughout the day on Saturday, September 24 include a giant  FLEAville craft and vintage art fair, where attendees can browse and buy local handmade goods, a wide variety of family­friendly activities, and more to be announced.
