Tom Tom Announces Seventh Annual Tomtoberfest

Daylong event celebrates Charlottesville creativity, innovation and community

The Tom Tom Foundation announces the 7th annual Tomtoberfest which will take place on Saturday, September 29th at the IX Art Park in collaboration with WTJU’s Freefall Concert Series. Tomtoberfest is a day-long celebration of Charlottesville’s creativity, innovation, and community filled with free concerts, games, a craft beer garden, food trucks as well as Tech and Community Mixers. It will be co-hosted with Cville Weekly and New Belgium Brewing Company. Last year’s festivities drew over 9,000 attendees.

“We are excited to partner with the IX Art Park and WTJU this fall in ways that align with the Tom Tom Foundation’s mission of celebrating innovation and connecting community,” said Tom Tom founder and executive director Paul Beyer. “IX and WTJU have done a tremendous job of building the Freefall Concert Series and are excited to partner with our fall event.”

Tomtoberfest will feature free, local bands throughout the day and night. National brands like New Belgium Brewing and local brewers, Champion Brewing, Wild Wolf Brewing, and Buskey Cider will be serving brews at a craft beer garden. The full music lineup will be announced in the coming weeks.

During the day, a new event, the Community Mixer, will feature over 60 local groups giving back to Charlottesville. They will inform attendees on their missions and current projects to build awareness and partnerships with individuals and businesses alike. The Tom Tom Foundation believes that a deeper collaboration with community groups will help strengthen and unify Charlottesville. Interested groups can email tommy@ for exhibiting information.
