Our community is also home to hundreds of small businesses of every type that are continually innovating. Our business and innovation conversation is designed to cover small and exciting ideas and big trends in the local business community, whether it’s a new patent, a new headquarters or a new micro-financing model.

Our mission is to work for you, providing public service journalism for the Charlottesville area. Many local news outlets are contracting or being outsourced to non-local ownership. We seek to build a sustainable model for local journalism by and for the people who live, work, and are invested in our area. To move our plan forward, we need your help. With options to give at many levels, a $5 per month ($60 per year) contribution will help expand our coverage.  At any level, your contribution invests in a sustainable future for local journalism rooted in truth, community, and equity.
