In Virginia, clerks of Circuit Court are elected for eight-year terms and have a range of duties, including making sure the public has access to Circuit Court Records. Janet A. Hix is the incumbent and is running unopposed for the office of Clerk of Circuit Court for Appomattox County.
Hix has served as clerk in Appomattox County for eight years, after winning an uncontested election for the position in 2015. If elected this will be her second term.
Hix is the only candidate certified by the Virginia Department of Elections, though voters can write in other candidates’ names if they choose.
Hix did not return a questionnaire sent by Charlottesville Tomorrow with questions regarding her office and candidacy.
