WriterHouse is partnering with the Jefferson-Madison Regional Library (JMRL) to hold a community write-in at the Central Library on Wednesday, September 27 from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. This event will kick off a new campaign called #TheWrite2Heal.

WriterHouse is collaborating with writing centers across the country to bring forth healing and unity in a time of deep divide through their #TheWrite2Heal campaign—an opportunity to voice thoughts of peace, love, and solidarity in the aftermath of August 12.

Attendees should bring a notebook; WriterHouse will provide the prompts. Snacks will be provided as well as writing materials for those who need them.

Writers are encouraged to let their pen be a force for love and show the world that while we are still wrestling with the violent acts that occurred in Charlottesville on August 11 and 12, our voices are strong and our resilience has not been diminished.

As Maya Angelou once said, “There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story within you.”
