Overnight Shelter and Homeless Support Services
The Salvation Army operates the Charlottesville-area’s only permanent overnight shelter. Public soup kitchen meals are available 365 days a year, Monday through Saturday at 8 am and 5:30 pm, and Sundays at 9:15 am and 4 pm. Donated food and produce from local grocery stores and bakeries is also available.

Eligibility Requirements:
- You are 18 years of age or older.
- You are drug-free and sober during your stay at the shelter.
- Bring a photo ID.
How to Apply:
For the overnight shelter, no walk-ins. Call to be screened from 8am - 4pm. No intake after 4pm.
