Regarding Multi-use Path to Connect Hydraulic to Greer Elementary and Jack Jouett Middle

On *Monday, October 16, 2017 at 5:30PM in the the Media Center of Greer Elementary School*, Albemarle County is hosting a public information session. At this meeting, which is part of the regular monthly meeting of the Places29-Hydraulic Community Advisory Committee, staff will present plans to construct a multi-use path along Lambs Road and Lambs Lane. The path would connects the existing sidewalks on the campuses of Greer Elementary and Jouett Middle Schools to the existing sidewalks and crosswalk at the intersection of Lambs Road and Hydraulic Road. A multi-use path can be described as an 8 to 10-foot wide, hard surface path that cyclists, walkers, and other recreational modes of non-motorized transportation can share.

The purpose of this proposed multi-use path is to improve pedestrian and bicycle access through a Safe Routes to School grant. Safe Routes to School is a national program that promotes walking and biking as a means for children to get to and from school by making it safe, convenient, and fun. Attendees will review and provide feedback on conceptual designs for the proposed multi-use path.
