Community residents, local government, the business community, and other organizations all play an important role in shaping a community. The Master Plans are created with substantial time and effort from all these groups collaboratively. To continue that collaboration and communication, the Master Plans call for the appointment of Community Advisory Comittees (CACs). CACs are citizen groups that assist County staff and the Board of Supervisors on community issues in support of implementation of the Master Plans.

Joining a CAC is a great way to get more involved in the community and meet fellow residents and businesses! Members of the business community and citizens-at-large are eligible to apply to serve on the CACs through the online application. If you have any questions, please contact Emily Kilroy, Community Engagement Coordinator, at 434-296-5841 or by email at ekilroy@albemarle.org

Currently, there are CACs for 5th & Avon, Crozet, Pantops, Places29, and the Village of Rivanna. Visit www.albemarle.org/cac to learn more about the CACs and the Master Plans.

Along with the Places29, 5th & Avon, and Village of Rivanna CACs, there are additional vacancies in some of our other Boards and Commissions. Click here to view vacancy information.
