The 2-acre skate park replaces a facility that was demolished to make way for the interchange at McIntire Road and the John W. Warner Parkway. The skate park, located on the eastern side of McIntire Park is a facility open for skateboarding, biking and rollerskating. The facility is unsupervised and generally is open from 8 a.m. to sunset and does not have an admission fee. The skate park cost about $2.1 million and received a $25,000 grant from the Tony Hawk Foundation for its construction.
