The Charlottesville High School Orchestra (CHSO) has officially launched its Painted Violin Project, a special fundraising effort to support the CHSO String Ensemble’s travel to Ireland this June. Fourteen area artists have generously contributed their time and talent to transform real violins into objects of art. Now displayed on the Downtown Mall and soon to be exhibited at Studio IX, these beautiful, witty creations will be auctioned at the CHSO’s exciting online silent auction from March 3 – 17, 2017. Bidding is open to the general public, and anyone interested in bidding can visit the CHSO website: www.chsorchestra.org or chsorchestrabetterworldcollective.com during those weeks. Images of the violins, front and back, are available on the orchestra’s website.
The orchestra has a large financial deadline approaching and is seeking the community’s support with this auction and other donations. For more information, visit chsorchestra.org.
