ASAP president Dave Shreve; Inaugural Fife Scholarship recipient, Sam Dreyfus; and Nancy O’Brien, wife of the late Francis Fife.

Advocates for a Sustainable Albemarle Population (ASAP) President Dave Shreve will present the inaugural Francis Fife Scholarship for Community Sustainability to CHS student Sam Dreyfus this evening at the Charlottesville High School Senior Award Celebration (7-9 p.m., Charlottesville High School Auditorium).

As a memorial to Francis Fife, the longtime ASAP board member and progressive leader in the Charlottesville-Albemarle area, ASAP created the scholarship in 2016.  The scholarship is worth $1000.00.

Applicants were required to submit an essay exploring “the concept of our community’s sustainability and quality of life as it is affected by population growth or other anticipated and related change.”
