CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA — Community Investment Collaborative’s (CIC) mission is to strengthen our community and contribute to economic development by fueling the success of under-resourced entrepreneurs through education, mentoring, micro-lending and networking. CIC will be hosting its annual Entrepreneur Showcase as part of the Tom Tom Founders Festival programming at the City Market on Saturday, April 15th from 9am to 12pm. CIC’s Entrepreneur Showcase will offer 18 local entrepreneurs a free opportunity to network and sell to thousands attending this event at the farmers market.

“Networking and exposure are very important for budding entrepreneurs” says Waverly Davis, CIC’s Client Services Coordinator. “Marketing, especially in the early stages, is key to creating a successful business.”

Yvonne Cunningham is the owner of Nona’s Italian Cucina and is currently enrolled in CIC’s Entrepreneur Training Workshop. She is excited to participate in the Entrepreneur Showcase, “My business has been a cumulative effort of my lifelong dream, all leading up to the moment of showcasing my personal recipe, refined and tested on my supportive friends and family.”

CIC alum, Jessica Tiller, owner of Estate Planning of Charlottesville, is looking forward to the Entrepreneur Showcase, and explains that, “The Entrepreneur Showcase allows me to meet people individually to talk tough legal topics like death and disability and helps people see that creating a will isn’t as scary or costly as they thought it would be.”
