Republican Duane Snow is an incumbent candidate for the Samuel Miller District seat on the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors.  Four of the six seats on board will be determined in the November 5 election. Other candidates in this race include: Liz Palmer (D).

Bio: For 25 years (1978-2003) CEO and President of Snow’s Landscape and Garden Center.  Hosted the longest Running Radio Gardening Show in the Nation. Former PVCC Instructor.

Church responsibilities: Bishop, two separate congregations (8 yrs). My wife and I served as missionaries for 18 months in the Philippines.  Helped train local leaders in 14 separate congregations.  Also participated and worked with two Rotary Clubs in the Philippines. Helped with two medical missions, tree planting, water purification and nutrition outreach sponsored by the Rotary Clubs. Currently serving as a Family Services Missionary, with my wife, facilitating Addiction Recovery Programs in Charlottesville and Waynesboro.

Education: Brigham Young University, Bachelor of Science

Occupation: CEO RDPD, LLC, rental property.

Previous political experience: 4 years Board of Supervisors, 3 years Architectural Review Board; 10 years State Agriculture Council, 2 years Rivanna River Basin Commission; 3 years Metropolitan Planning Organization; 2 years Local Energy Alliance Board

Family: My wife, Rena, and I have been married for 46 yrs. 5 Children all graduated from Albemarle County Public Schools, 14 Grandchildren (5 generations)
