The

Albemarle County Farm Bureau

ran a television advertisement on WVIR NBC-29 in the days leading up to the public hearing held last week by the

Albemarle County Board of Supervisors

to consider

three
ordinance proposals related to protection of stream buffers, protection
of critical slopes, and holding periods for lots on family sub-divisions

.

This advertisement and the Board’s 3-3 stalemate will be one of the topics discussed during my appearance on Coy Barefoot’s

Charlottesville Right Now

program on WINA AM 1070 from 5-6 PM on Tuesday, October 16, 2007.  Listen to the ad, read the script, review the

extensive comments on our blog

, and call in to WINA (977-1070) with your thoughts.

and

[NARRATOR]

Two ordinances proposed by Albemarle County staff as resource protection will not protect farmers.

If passed, they will: restrict your families building sites; limit the value of your property; give Albemarle County control of your property for 15 years.

The right labels make some things sound better than they are.

Attend the public hearing Wednesday, October 10th at 6PM at the McIntire Road County Office Building and express your opinion.
