The Virginia Film Festival kicks-off on November 7th.  This year Charlottesville Tomorrow is supporting two films that fit with our mission statement.

On Friday at 4:00 p.m., Diller Scofidio + Renfro: Reimagining Lincoln Center and the High Line will play at the Newcomb Hall Theater.  This documentary offers unique insights into the history of the MacArthur Genius Award-winning design firm Diller Scofidio + Renfro.  Director Tom Piper highlights the firm’s process of re-imagining some of New York’s most iconic urban spaces, including the conversion of the city’s High Line railroad tracks into an inventive urban park, and its work in expanding and revitalizing the Lincoln Center.

On Sunday at 11:30 a.m., CAUCUS will play at Culbreth Theatre.  CAUCUS tells the gripping story of the 2011-2012 campaign in Iowa as eight Republicans fought to become their party’s standard-bearer.  Director AJ Schnack followed the 2012 Republican presidential contenders as they traveled Iowa’s 99 counties.  The film manages to take us beyond the caricatures and into the humanity of the candidates.

We hope you can come out for both films.  But if you had to choose… which film is of most interest to you?
