Celebration begins at 2pm on Saturday, February 11

The Hassan’s Martin Street home is the first of at least 20 homes the Habitat team will build in the Charlottesville area in the coming year.

Thanks to the generosity of thousands of community volunteers, our labor force is strong; nonetheless, finding affordable lots for our homes, especially in the City, continues to present a significant challenge. Recognizing the struggle to identify home sites, and the severe shortage of local affordable housing opportunities plaguing our area, the City of Charlottesville is helping Habitat purchase otherwise unaffordable lots in a variety of census tracts throughout the City.

The Hassan Family’s Locust Grove home was made possible due to this support from the City’s Affordable Housing Fund.

Join the Habitat team, City Counselor Kristin Szakos, the Hassan family, and members of the Locust Grove neighborhood to celebrate this special milestone on Saturday, February 11 starting at 2pm.

Dedication site is 1029 Martin Street, Charlottesville.
