Jefferson-Madison Regional Library has received a grant of $100,000 from the Friends of the Library to help pay for a new Bookmobile.

The library hopes to have the new vehicle on the road before fall. The Bookmobile makes almost 40 biweekly stops in Albemarle County and Charlottesville, including stops at many senior living facilities.

Library Director John Halliday said, “This gift came at a very good time because the old Bookmobile was getting harder to maintain.”

The Friends of the Library grant was made possible by funds raised at the fall and spring used book sales at Gordon Avenue Library.
