Everyone in the City of Charlottesville and Albemarle County will have a contested election on their local ballot November 3.  What will it take to get people voting?

Local elections have a huge impact on our community and our quality of life.  However, this is the one election cycle every four years that typically has the lowest turnout because there are no federal or statewide races on the ballot.  Voter turnout in Virginia has averaged about 30 percent in these elections (2011, 2007 and 2003).

What will MOST motivate the other 70 percent of voters to participate in our local elections?
