He is one of two independent candidates challenging incumbent Lindsay Dorrier (D-Scottsville) in the race to represent the Scottsville district on the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors. Fletcher moved to the County with his wife 17 years ago, and now owns a landscape company. He says he’s running for office because he feels his views are not represented on the Board of Supervisors.
“I’m concerned about the rate of growth that’s going on in the county, and that a lot of the cost is being passed on to the citizens of Albemarle County,” he said, adding that he thinks citizens are the “underdog” in decisions made by the Board.
