Albemarle County Public Schools launched the Environmental Studies Academy at Western Albemarle School in the fall of 2014. To both modernize the school’s facilities, and to create enough space for the program’s demand, Charlottesville-based design firm VMDO Architects designed new laboratory space. The project is scheduled to open during the 2015-16 school year.
