City housing authority OKs $23 million in bonds to renovate Midway Manor

During a public hearing Monday night, the city housing authority voted to issue up to $23 million in revenue bonds to the new owner of Midway Manor, who has pledged to maintain the long-term affordability of the building’s 98 units. It won’t cost the city a dime.

Midway Manor owners extend Section 8 contract for just two years

Broken elevators spur problems for Midway Manor residents

Both elevators in the four-story Midway Manor building have been out of service since last Wednesday. Building residents, who are mostly seniors and folks with disabilities, have had to resort to drastic measures to get their medications, their mail, food, and more while they wait for repairs.
