After an extensive search, Alan Goffinski has been selected as the new Interim Director of The Bridge Progressive Arts Initiative.  He will begin on December 1.

A Chicago-native, Alan relocated to Charlottesville from Indianapolis, IN where he most recently served as Creative Consultant and Creative Placemaker for Big Car Collaborative and Reconnecting to Our Waterways, an organization that coordinated community artists and resources to accomplish assets-based beautification projects that improve awareness and investment in the waterway system of Indianapolis. Experienced in creative placemaking, Alan was also founding member and project director of Know No Stranger—an artist-founded organization bringing accessible and engaging cultural experiences to central Indiana and beyond with a focus on building community and inspiring beauty. An artist himself, Alan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Indiana University.
“My educational and organizational experience has confirmed my belief in the dignity and worth of every individual and has fostered a deeper understanding of diversity in a pluralistic society. These are values that I deeply understand and internalize, and they are values that are vital for an organization intending to leave an equitable and energizing legacy in the city of Charlottesville.”- Alan Goffinski

Please join us at our First Friday reception for Gift Forest on December 2, 5:30PM, and welcome Alan to Charlottesville and The Bridge Progressive Arts Initiative.
