CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA — The Virginia Discovery Museum is extending its Friday hours this summer with a new 5 After Five campaign. Starting July 1, the museum will stay open until 8 p.m. each Friday, and after 5 p.m., admission will be reduced to $5 per person. Members are still free with their membership card.
The museum decided to extend its hours to coincide with the popular Fridays After Five summer concert series at the Sprint Pavilion as a way to make its exhibits more accessible to families who might not be able to visit the Downtown Mall during the week.
Museum visitors who park in the Market Street or Water Street garages can get their parking tickets validated at the front desk for two hours.
