June 17, 2015 (Charlottesville, VA) – PCA is proud to announce the VSA Charlottesville/Albemarle Exhibit for the month of July. VSA Charlottesville/Albemarle artists from Jefferson Area Board on Aging (JABA) Adult Care Center (ACC), Alzheimer’s Association Arts Fusion Program, Post High, Region Ten Community Services Board, Amanda Grove, Mary Littlewood, and artist/photographer Robyn Miller will exhibit their work.

VSA Charlottesville/Albemarle promotes and develops opportunities for art and creative expression for people of all ages and abilities with a focus on serving individuals with disabilities. Through this, VSA educates, inspires and enhances quality of life for the community.

There will be a First Fridays opening reception from 5:30-7:00pm on Friday, July 10 at CitySpace (located at 100 5th NE on the Downtown Mall). This event is FREE and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.

The exhibit will remain on display through Tuesday, July 28, 2015. There will also be an exhibit by local artist Julia Lesnichy on display inside the PCA office within CitySpace.

VSA Charlottesville/Albemarle was formed in 2000 as a district of Virginia VSA arts (formerly Very Special Arts) to provide arts and education opportunities for people with disabilities and increase access to the arts for all.  VSA Charlottesville/Albemarle is a member of the VSA affiliate network, a program of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

The Charlottesville/Albemarle VSA sponsors annual art exhibits, VSA artist led workshops, an annual poetry book, Virginia Festival of the Book activities, an annual music concert, and other special events.  Anyone interested in joining the project committees, contributing to the art exhibits, poetry book or learning about local VSA projects can contact Sarah Blech at (434) 970-3260.
