Thursday, August 30th the Better Business Challenge will host a Meet n’ Greet for the nearly 80 local businesses and nonprofits who are stepping up to the starting line to begin a year of energy savings, going solar, and other sustainability initiatives!
The Challenge is a friendly community-wide competition designed to help organizations save money and demonstrate their commitment to the environment, while earning public recognition. Those interested in joining the 2018-2019 Better Business Challenge are also welcome to attend this free event.
Challenge “players” include many of the area’s leading businesses and nonprofits including Colonial Nissan, Hantzmon & Wiebel, CFA Institute, Suntribe Solar, Southern Environmental Law Center, Hyatt Place at Stonefield, Worldstrides, AHIP, Rapture, Firefly, Tandem Friends School, Albemarle County Public Schools, The City of Charlottesville, and Kardinal Hall. Organizations can join online and begin racking up points by taking action from the Challenge Energy Scorecard between now and May 2019. Actions include forming an energy team, conducting lighting assessments, installing smart power strips, and making bigger investments like installing solar energy.
