Aliyah Cotton is the People and Culture Officer at Charlottesville Tomorrow She earned her MFA from Boston University where she was a recipient of the Robert Pinsky Global Fellowship. She is passionate about building a local newsroom where journalists and the communities they serve can be creative and thrive. A queer poet of color from Reston, Virginia, you can find her in Poetry Magazine, Adroit, and Southern Humanities Review, among other journals. She is a 2024 Gregory Djanikian Scholar and was nominated for the 2024 Best of the Net Anthology. And while her creative passion is poetry, she's also a subscriber and reader of Charlottesville Tomorrow's free email newsletters.
