Charlottesville Tomorrow’s education reporter Billy Jean Louis attended the Education Writers Association’s 2019 fall Higher Education Seminar at the University of Michigan from September 22-24. The theme of the seminar was “Demographics, Politics, and Technology: The Forces Reshaping Higher Education.”
EWA’s journalist-only intensive training event examined how “higher education institutions are adjusting to new technologies, a reduction in the number of ‘traditional’ college students, and a political environment marked by anti-intellectualism and polarization.” Sessions included practical advice for reporters covering higher education topics.
Billy was part of the EWA’s trivia contest winning team, where reporters answered questions on several topics, including the College Admissions scandal.
