Tom Tom Opens Nominations for 2nd Annual Founding Cville Program

Program honors local founders of business, civic or artistic initiatives on Downtown Banners

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA (June 29th, 2015)Nominations are now open through Tom Tom’s website for the 2nd annual ‘Founding Cville’ Program. The Program honors contemporary Charlottesville founders who embody the Jeffersonian spirit of multidisciplinary creativity – be they artists, entrepreneurs, or civic leaders. In collaboration with the Downtown Business Association of Charlottesville, the Founders portraits will hang from the Downtown Banners throughout the month of September.

The public is encouraged to nominate candidates who have  founded or co-founded their project, business, or organization in Charlottesville, and who have provided a positive example for the region through their local, national or global impact.

Nominations can be made through: tomtomfest.com/foundingcville.  Nominations close Wednesday, July 15th at 11:59pm.

The 2015 Cville Founders will be chosen from the nominees by the 2014 Founding Cville Recipients and the Tom Tom Advisory Board. The selected founders will be honored at an award ceremony during the Tom Tom Fall Block Party on September 25th and 26th at the IX Art Park. Throughout the month of September, the Founder’s portraits will hang from the banners on the Downtown Mall and their profiles will appear on the Tom Tom website. Tom Tom will also feature the Founders in a new public lecture series that will run throughout the year.
