Charlottesville Home Weatherization Program
This program, a partnership between the City of Charlottesville and the Local Energy Alliance Program (LEAP), provides no-cost home energy efficiency upgrades for homeowners and renters. Improvements may include air sealing, attic insulation, hot water pipe insulation, programmable thermostats, and water-saving upgrades.
- You are a Charlottesville Gas customer who lives in a single-family home, duplex, or townhouse.
- You use either natural gas to heat your home, and/or hot water with a gas furnace or boiler.
- Your income is less than or equal to 80% of area median income (AMI). Examples as of 2026:
- $85,450 for a family of 2
- $106,800 for a family of 4
- If you are age 60 or older, your income is less than or equal to:
- $75,584 for a family of 1
- $98,842 for a family of 2
- If you are a renter, ask your landlord to complete the Landlord Authorization form.
