Becoming a local radio show host combined Charles Lewis’ two loves: music and community.

“We need to have ownership of our own voices, of our own music, of our own media,” he said. That’s why he produces and co-hosts the In My Humble Opinion Radio Show.

Lewis thinks authentic representation in local media is possible.

“I believe that because of the groundwork and foundation that has been laid by the collaborative journalism of Charlottesville Inclusive Media project,” he said. “Twenty years from now we will be at a place to where the community trusts its local media. They will have grown to trust their representation is authentic, and that they will be hearing and seeing their stories.”
